Cleaning. A word a selective few enjoy and many avoid, but as the New Year is rolling out, there are small things you can do to make your cleaning routine easier, smarter and more exciting for the 2019 version of you!
Cleaning hacks to help you stick to those resolutions!
Make your bed every morning
Seems like the simplest thing in the world, right? Well it is. All it takes is a few seconds each morning and right away your room will look cleaner than it did. Not only that, but you will feel better coming home at the end of a long day, to a nicely made bed that you can cuddle up inside of. A few seconds a day for a simple cleaning hack!
Clean the windows
Don’t underestimate the power of sparkling clean windows in your home! Not only will they make rooms look brighter but will let more sunshine through – something we definitely need more of in rainy UK! Start by taking down your curtains (a good opportunity to give those a wash too) and start cleaning the windows from the inside as well as the outside if possible. This tricky task will be made so much easier with the Windomatic Power. Quick, efficient and easy to use, with the ability to clean up to 120 windows in just 1 charge*, you’ll be left with a bright and glowing home in no time.
Buy some flowers
It may not necessarily be a cleaning hack, but flowers are a great way to bring colour and life into the home. It’s a fantastic way to make you feel good every time you walk into the lounge or kitchen, not to mention the wonderful smell you’ll get from them. Or to save money and to make it more special, get them from yours or a friend’s garden (with permission of course!).
Reorganise your kitchen cupboards every now and again
Reorganising the spices into alphabetical order or according to colours is a fun way to ‘spice up’ your kitchen and make you want to keep your kitchen looking fresh and tidy. Not only will their tidiness make you feel good about your cupboards, it will also help to keep them that way. Remember to give a quick wipe underneath the jars before returning them to your cupboards.
Empty out your closets too
Clothes that don’t fit, a button missing here and there, great items confined to the back of your wardrobe? If those sound all too familiar then it’s a good idea to clear out your wardrobe! A simple task but one that takes dedication, so don’t be afraid to be ruthless! First, try them all on to see what still suits and fits well, if they still do then give them a wash and once dry give them a good iron so they’re ready to start wearing again. A task made much easier with the Park & Go Ironing Board, with a large iron rest suitable for a steam generator and a metallized “parking zone” for convenience.
A cleaning schedule
The saying “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible” is a great mindset when it comes to cleaning. When looking at tasks ahead, they can always look bigger than you expect. Set yourself weekly cleaning goals! This will help motivate you and help to achieve the perfect clean home. If you need some help in getting there, our Vileda Turbo Mop & Bucket Set, will definitely be of use in achieving your goal of a beautiful home in 2019.
Here’s to a happy (and clean) 2019!!
